SO proud of our team and our amazing clients at kate spade new york! We were just ranked with “Genius” status on the L2 Digital IQ Index second behind Burberry and out of 50 of the top fashion brands in the world.
ALMOST PEED IN MY PANTS…

Hahahahaha
Foursquare just hit 1 billion total check-ins. Here’s a video they created of a week’s worth of check-ins. It’s amazing the amount of data they have now.
Neat :)
I have to give Burberry major social media props for tapping Mike Kus, a local Graph/Web Designer with over 123K people following him personally on Instagram to run the brand’s Instagram feed during their S/S 2012 show for London Fashion Week.
They had Christopher Bailey write a handwritten note introducing Mike on the Burberry feed (which currently has 88K+ followers) and then Mike posted a beautifully branded image on his own feed introducing the program to his massive following.
It’s an elegant way to bring more exposure to their platform while providing a professional point of view to the show. So well done, props to Musa Tariq and the brilliant social team at Burberry UK.
Reblog (or raise your hands and say yeah!) if you think these emails from Klout are spam.
If I have notifications available- WHY DON’T YOU JUST TELL ME ABOUT THEM IN THE NOTIFICATION EMAILS I HAVE OPTED IN TO???
HILARIOUS.
Almost 2 million views of two old goats trying to use a webcam. Viral = Funny.

Very interesting article about Community Managers in New York Post’s Page Six. One of our community managers was also approached for this piece but she didn’t even ask for permission to be included and turned the opportunity down. Want to know why?
Because it is a BAD idea to put a face to your voice on social as a brand unless it is integral to your brand positioning. What happens when these people leave their current position? Will there be a backlash? Even if there isn’t, why even open up the possibility for that? If you want great press, do great work and it will come- you don’t need this kind of press.
We have taught her well and I am really proud to work with her. (and she runs circles around this crew- just saying)

Look who’s on instagram… Really bloomies? You’re not going to follow anyone?
What’s up party people… I am moderating a panel today at the Lucky Fashion & Beauty Blogger Conference, if you aren’t attending check out the livestream at this link.
I wasn’t able to go this AM, but I watched (pretty seamlessly) on Livestream’s iPhone app- download it here.
I go on around 4 moderating a panel discussing “Which Platforms are Right for You” with:
Scott Galloway, Professor, NYU Stern & Founder, L2
Katia Beauchamp, Cofounder, Birch Box
John Jannuzzi, Style Collective Editor, Lucky
Ben Silbermann, Founder, Pinterest
Megan Berry, Marketing Manager, Klout
This is absolutely appalling. I am not sure what is truly going on over there, but I am fairly certain that I was right in being skeptical that AOL has now taken this magical turn for the better.
I am speaking at the Lucky Magazine Fashion & Beauty Blogger conference tomorrow and I have been giving some thought to not just the problems that Brands & Bloggers face when trying to work together, but also the solutions.
As far as I see it- most bloggers are going down two paths at the moment:
1. Selling ads on their site (by doing it themselves, or partnering up with an ad network)
OR
2. Getting paid partnerships from brands (by doing it themselves, or partnering up with a blogger talent firm)
There are pros and cons to both these choices- but I am far too lazy to write them all here. What I can tell you is that there is a third choice for bloggers and brands that is almost no risk to either party and potentially lucrative for both parties… wait for it… affiliate marketing.
